by admin477351

Russian forces killed one person and wounded 15 others in attacks on Kyiv and Kharkiv, while Ukrainian President Zelensky proposed an economic zone as part of peace negotiations. The strikes targeted residential areas even as diplomatic discussions explored economic and political solutions.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned residents that the capital was “under a massive enemy attack,” instructing people to remain in protective shelters. The bombardment hit residential buildings, causing casualties and widespread damage. Essential services including heat and water were disrupted in parts of the city, creating additional suffering for civilians.

Mayor Igor Terekhov reported that Kharkiv faced attacks from Iranian-manufactured Shahed drones, which damaged several residential complexes in the northeastern city. The drone strikes demonstrated Russia’s continued reliance on Iranian military technology to target civilian infrastructure. Kharkiv has endured repeated bombardment throughout the war.

In Abu Dhabi, negotiators from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States convened for two-day talks aimed at ending the conflict. The UAE foreign ministry stated the discussions were part of “ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and identify political solutions to the crisis.” However, the Donbas region remained a critical sticking point, with Russia demanding Ukrainian military withdrawal.

President Zelensky, following discussions with President Trump, announced that peace proposals were approaching completion. He proposed establishing a free trade zone under Ukrainian control in the country’s east, stating it would be “positive for our business.” President Putin met separately with Trump’s envoys, while all parties committed to continuing weekend negotiations.
