Despite this new visa-free policy, Togo maintains that visitors must comply with existing immigration, security, and public health protocols before entry. Travelers are also required to complete a declaration on a government platform at least 24 hours ahead of their arrival to secure a travel document. These measures are designed to balance open travel with the need to ensure national security and public safety.
This reform aligns with Togo’s broader vision to transform its capital, Lomé, into a pivotal hub for regional trade, services, and investment. By simplifying travel rules, Togo hopes to attract a diverse range of visitors, including entrepreneurs and skilled professionals, enhancing economic ties with other African countries.
